Earlier this week, I came across Jill Rosen’s blog “Unleashed” and just had to share it. Written as a blog for animals and the people who love them, “Unleashed” hits on a number of great animal topics this week. Among my favorites was a post that reported findings from a survey conducted by Petside.com and the Associated Press. The survey found more than half of American pet owners consider their pet a member of the family.
To be honest, I’m surprised it isn’t more! Nearly every pet owner I know (including myself!) considers their pet as a person. Whether having pet birthday parties (check out Purina’s Frosty Paws as great doggie-bag treat!) or including their dogs/cats on family holiday cards, more and more people are celebrating the bond they have with their pets.
